Yesterday Maurice and I went to Sleep No More. I got tickets for him last month when we hit our 6 months mark. It was a post-Valentine's celebration since we didn't do anything the day of. We figured it would be packed everywhere we went. We sometimes go out of our way to avoid crowds. BUT even though we didn't do anything special, he got the prettiest flowers! He choose a really great combination.

We are also planning a birthday celebration soon. Maurice and I have birthdays that are very close to each other and we thought that it would be fun to do something together with all of our friends. It's going to be a bowling party. I'm not exactly the best bowler. I've been bowling twice and each time was pretty bad, but as long as it's fun, I'm going to try!

I've also been really into the "peter pan" collar recently. So I polished my nails like them! Fun!

I've been in an especially funky moon recently, extra sensitive, but I'm starting to realize/remember that every year around this time I get especially sad. I'm starting to think it's S.A.D. Every year around this time is especially difficult, maybe it's the winter blues. It's still really cold here in New York, and with spring approaching, I feel a lot of changes are coming. It's all making in slightly nervous. Changes often occur during this time.

Hope all is well in the world out there. xoxo

envelops another day

Free People Linen pants and Peter Pan Color, American Apparel lace jumpsuit and nail polish, Catbird perfume locket

This week has been pretty noneventful. I went back to work and pretty much worked nonstop. I polished my nails in a Valentine's Day theme. The colors are all from American Apparel: Factory Grey, Mannequin, and Cotton. I've been really into nail art lately. I also love this perfume locket that Maurice gave me during the holidays. He got it from a super cute shop down the street in Williamsburg.

I'm still patiently waiting for my hair to grow.

Yesterday was finally the day of the test, and I am relieved that it is over. I have been stressing out over it for the last four days. Now it's time to stress about the yay or nay of the acceptance. I also did yoga for the first time ever today! Muscles were stretched that I didn't even know could be stretched. It was actually really fun and I hope to do it again. My only problem is that I would only work out if I had a partner or a friend to suffer through it with and Maurice is not into Yoga.

In other news, Maurice and I are planning on throwing a mini-non-get-together with our friends for our birthdays. Our birthdays are 3 days apart. We're thinking about going bowling because who really wants to go out to a crowded bar on a Saturday night?

More soon!

saturday sun

This is an outfit from last week. We're getting ready for Spring already but I guess when the first day of February is in the mid 50's it's okay to wear a body con. My hair is in the process of growing out awkwardly so I have been resorting to the head band pretty often this last month.

Today is my second day off, dedicated to hopefully what will be an all day consuming studying session. I feel as unprepared as I was a year ago, but offcially signing up for the test has made it imperative. The vocabulary is beyond me and I dreamt of factorials last night. Monday is the day of the test and I need to be isolated for the next two days in order to concentrate. I have been lamenting the GRE test ever since I graduated. My application is submitted, along with my transcripts, resume, essay, and letters of recommendation. I'm starting to think that I've put all my eggs in one basket, just banking on this to work out. I have to remind myself not to be so melodramatic because whatever happens, things always seem to work out anyways.

On the other front of relationships, Maurice and I have been surviving the domesticated bliss of me pushing myself on him and unofficially living with him. I am continuing to sublet my apartment in Little Italy and will reside here in Williamsburg until further notice. He works a lot-- a lot! But I think that it will all be worth it for him.

I cannot wait for next week when I can unfry my brain and start enjoying things. I bought tickets to go see Sleep No More for Valentine's Day celebration, except for the fact that we are actually going the day after. I'm excited because Maurice and I haven't had much free time to really do any activities. It's difficult as you get older because you start to feel tired and lazy more easily. I'm going to try to be better at this, maybe it's just the winter blues (winter blues of 50 degree temps).

Thanks for checking in!!

Levi's Denim Jacket and Free People Fit n Flare Daisy dress

I haven't posted an outfit in forever but I am dedicated to start again! Recently the easiest thing to throw on is my Levi's Denim jacket. It pretty much goes with almost anything and you can use it to dress down any special piece. I think my next investment is going to be a cutoff denim vest for the spring and summer.

Hope everyone is doing well this warm February! xoxo
